Khyber Pakhtukhwa Prisons inspectorate is an attached department of Home & Tribe affairs department. The Inspectorate of Prisons supervises the operation and management of 22 prisons, 5 internment centers. The department is making efforts to take up the security, reformation and development of prisoners and prisons under the present day concepts.
